To All:
In the past, when a new topic was submitted, Members had to check the "For Members Only" checkbox (found just above the "Submit Topic" button) to prevent it from being publicly available. Note that it would take some doing but theoretically a topic not marked "For Members Only" could be found with some clever search engine work.
Going forward, the "For Members Only" checkbox will default to "checked" and require Members to uncheck it if they want to demonstrate their brilliance before the general public! I will always do so as the making topic information available to the general public is a good way to build interest in our community. Many Members include links to their topics on the Inner Circle in other Forums they frequent. Note that, with this change, non-Members will no longer be able to view your topics unless you uncheck the "For Members Only" checkbox. Also note that this change will not affect existing topics (of course, you can always change your topic status at any time if you change your mind).
We are also considering changing the default status of the "Members Only" checkbox for replies to "checked" as well and are accepting input and opinion on the matter. However, presently, replies must be manually marked as "Members Only" to prevent viewing by the general public.
