Although I typically feel very good I haven't, as of yet, been successful in stopping the production of calcified plaque. I've done high dosage (6000 mg daily) fish oil, gave up wheat and lowered my carb intake. My thyroid is not optimized but I continue to work on it and have recently titrated up to 2 grains nature throid. Vitamin D is optimized. So I decided to check my post parandial 1 hour after eating. I found that starchy carbs put me above the 100 mark. So I purchased American ginseng and have tweaked my intake depending on food and results. It works! After 2000 mg american ginseng my one hour pp after my breakfast of 1/4 cup of cooked oatmeal, with 1 tsp. cinnamon and walnuts is down to 96 after 1 hour as opposed to 124 and once as high as 172. I also found out through trial and error that brown rice gives me less of a spike then I thought it would and that one piece of rice bread created a tremendous spike. So at this time I am able to determine how much American ginseng I need to take before a meal, based on the carb/sugar load, and this keeps my numbers in line. It is satisfying to know that there is something that I can do to see positive results immediately! As an aside I am ApoE 3/4 with high Lp(a). So I have cut down on fish oil to 1 tsp. daily and now take Spanish black radish at mealtime to move the fats through my system. Thanks for all the input from the forum and information on the site. At this time I realize that all of our bodies behave differently and that it is up to us to use the information provided and implement that which we believe will benefit us and then test to see if indeed it makes a difference. If it works then FANTASTIC, if not then try something else.

Congratulations on finding something that works for you.  It will be interesting to see what effect this has on your lipid tests.
