A Tale of Two People - Who would you rather be?

Here are two lipid and blood panels for you to compare.

Let me know which one you would rather have.

How would you compare their cardiovascular risk?

Test                                                       Person A                                              Person B

Fasting Glucose                                         5.1                                                          5.2

HbA1c                                                      5.4                                                          5.6

Total Cholesterol                                       166                                                         309

Triglycerides                                             120                                                          64

HDL                                                         31.6                                                       58.3

LDL-C                                                      111                                                         238

Total Chol/HDL Ratio                                 5.3                                                          5.3

Trig/HDL Ratio                                          3.8                                                          1.1

Vitamin D3 (25-Hydroxy)                                       28                                                                           59

I would rather have Person B’s numbers.  As we know, there are a lot of other confounding factors, i.e. smoking, inflammation markers, etc.

B for me as well.  The LDL-C is the only thing out of whack but the trigs and vitamin D are far superior.  I’d check LDL-P to see what’s up there.

B, too. HDL and D are best there. I don’t choke up over the LDL-C at first blush.

GDGatz:

Very perceptive of you.

Now that you’ve solved that mystery, you might be interested in knowing how different my diet was 10 years ago versus now.

I’ll be posting that soon.
