Latest SpectraCell Results – Part 4 of 4

Part 4 – Metabolic Markers

Here are my latest metabolic biomarkers from a blood draw on June 3, 2019. I am including some prior results as well for comparison.

Values outside the reference range are shown in red. In this case there were none.

                                          April 9, 2018    Mar 13, 2019       June 3, 3019         Reference Value

Fasting Insulin (uIU/mL)         5.9                          4.9                   6.9                   Under 21.0

Fasting Glucose (mg/dL)         92                           94                   94                      70 – 100

HbA1c                                   5.5                         5.6                  5.2                       Under 5.6

Est. Avg. Glucose (eAG – mg/dL)  111                114                    103                     Under 117

HOMA-IR                                 1.3                     1.1                    2.0                      Under 3.0

C-Peptide (ng/mL)                    1.2                                             1.3                       0.7 – 7.1

Adiponectin (ug/mL)                13.0                                            11.6                     5.5 – 26.0

Leptin (ng/mL)                         1.7                                              3.1                      Under 9.5

Type 2 Diabetes Risk               LOW                                            LOW                         LOW

I like when my Fasting Insulin comes in under 5.0 but it does vary. Again, don’t hang your hat on just one lab value.

Similarly, my HbA1c fluctuates from 5.2 to 5.6 and has done so over many years of testing as well. And that again could be from nothing more than variations in lab work.

I’ll be doing one more bonus section (next) on my “Omega-Check” fatty acid profile, which SpectraCell includes in their reports.

Only one thought, Malcolm.  Have you considered that a 100% protein diet might raise your blood sugar and trigs more than a low protein/high fat diet?
