I am continuing various protocol tests to understand my microbiome health so I ordered this kit and the preparation to do the self test has a puzzling preparation "special instructions" that I would like input on please. Of the long list of preparations, most of which I can easily deal with in my current state, but the part I struggle with reads:

" unless directed by your physician, stop taking beneficial floral supplements (acidophilus, etc), or consuming foods containing beneficial flora (e.g. Activia) at least 14 DAYS prior to starting the 3 day sample stool kit. "

my first reaction, no way in hell am I going to stop all my prebiotics, probiotics, & LR yogurt  for 2 weeks......for this test....

I am making great progress on stomach comfort, since gradually starting on the WB diet last summer, including ALL  protocol vitamins, supplements by fall.. and then starting LR yogurt full time daily 3 months ago... so can anyone help me understand if I should really stop as directed for 2 weeks? ( or can this crowd help me conclude " I am being directed by my physician to stay on my protocol for the test"..)…

there is some additional parenthetic language in the directions that go on further to say "some physicians like their patients to remain on their protocols to test the effectiveness of their treatment"...  can I call our protocol "treatment" and not stop for 14 days..???

input please.

thank you.

Michael
