When you get hassled about eating too much meat from nonWB friends or family, here’s a great chart to show them comparing the vitamin content of a few fruits and supposed powerhouse kale with beef and beef liver. It came from Maria Emmerich’s book KETO: The Complete Guide to Success on the Ketogenic Diet. I know we don’t do "keto" per se, and Maria herself is now eating carnivore, but her website has great recipes and is quite a good source for defense of our way of eating as well.

Also, a nice graphic from her as well in defense of the humble animal...the cow...as not being "just a burger" but so much more . . . .

Enjoy,

Jan

What about the "Elephant in the Room?"

According to Dr. Adam Nalley, high uric acid and higher risk of calcium oxalate stones and gout result from having high insulin.

Conversely, having low insulin means less uric acid, less calcium oxalate and less chance of kidney stones and gout.

How do we achieve low insulin? A keto diet will do it. Undoctored will do it. A carnivore diet will do it.

A high protein and high fat diet likely won’t cause the problems that searcher7 describes because your insulin will remain low.

Low insulin is the key.
