Something I've been thinking about lately is inflammation.
I wonder if it's possible to OVER CONTROL your inflammation.

It's been said if you get an injury to NOT take something like ibuprofen, because you WANT inflammation to help resolve the wound as soon as possible. And by taking ibuprofen, you PROLONG the length of time it takes to heal.  I can tell you from personal experience that ibuprofen is like a 100 times more powerful than curcumin and fish oil at controlling pain (inflammation), so I don't know that herbs/fish oil can overwhelm the inflammatory cascade.  Steroids are like a 1000 times more potent.

This could also be applied to anti-oxidants.  Dr. Mike Smith of LEF has said that the previous is like being on a see-saw with a 800lb gorilla.  You can never really over control inflammation with herbs and vitamins. (steroids yes)  Today's toxic environment only adds to the gorilla's weight.

There probably is a 'sweet spot' on inflammation, where you're inflamed enough to encourage rapid healing, but not so inflamed that you exacerbate tissue damage.

My last CRP was 0.2.  I don't think I want it to go to 0.0.  How would you tell if you're 'under'inflamed?

As a relatively new member to the Inner Circle, I love it when people revive an old, but very interesting thread like Bob just did.
