{exception} Wednesday Vmeet

Note: Moved from the 14th due to that being annual affection affirmation day (Valentine’s Day).

Concluded.

Remember: mute until you need to speak,
and you are not muted by default
(esp. if using speakers, vs. headset)

Use this thread for anything related to this specific future video meet up, such as:
. questions to log pre-meeting
. notes on subjects discussed
. requests for further information
. notification of meeting cancellation
. difficulties during a meet
. chat remarks that you want to persist past end of meet

The vmeet itself is not linked here, as the specific URL is created on the fly when the meeting host opens the meeting. Make sure you are fully logged it. Logging out, then back in, is suggested until the cookie bug gets isolated and fixed. Due to a separate issue with Zoom’s servers, reload the UIC front page/DISCUSSIONS, or the Vmeet page/Currently In Progress, until the link appears, which is usually ±2 minutes of the scheduled start time. A notification also appears as a small red banner in the upper right corner of the front page featured image.

The Calendar entry for any vmeet no longer vanishes at the scheduled start time, and stays visible while the meeting is in progress, even if it runs long. So if there’s no join link on the calendar page, you can now be sure the meeting is or is not in progress.

More tech tips on vmeets here.
