The last time I had a scan it was

2018 and score was 89

2016 it was 107

2015 it was 118

Today it came back at 323

Left main 14
Left Anterior Descending 215
Circumflex 22
Right Coronary artery 72
Posterior Descending  0

Original Scan in 2015
was

L Main 0
LAD 70
L Circumflex 0
Right Coronary Artery 48

I added regular statin (atorvastatin 20mg and now rovastatin 10mg).

I kept my course of cureality informed supplements, increased exercise, daily 4 hour eating window, diet got a little less strict in terms of carbs and sat fat.

LDL-P off statin is around 2200 sm ldl p around 600-1000

On statin it is around 1100 LDL-P and 250 SM LDL-P

Testosterone ok Free T 12.5

TSH way better than 4 years ago 1.64
Free T 3 2.8

D levels always maitained in 60-80 range

Lp(a) increasing to 175 from 108 since I added statin

Homocystiene 9
CRP .15
Omegas good - I live on fish

Has anyone see such a crazy increase simply due to statin use or might I be missing something?

By the way

Supplements -

coq10
mag
koncentrated k x2
rutin
D
gotu kola
vitamin C
l- citrulline
pine bark
garlic
daily natto

Thanks Max, a lot for me to take away from that thread, I will greatly limit sat fat again now as well due to similar reaction to smdLDL upon Sat Fat consumption.

Thanks HH - I will ask my cardio if he thinks ezetimibe would be appropriate for me.  It was a costly experiment for me to stop niacin, ease up on carbs and sat fat and allow my numbers to go over plan as Bob has pointed out.

HH,
Have you also restricted satfat in favor of monounsaturated fats in your diet?

I don’t have any advice to add, just wanted to say I’m thinking of you and am sure you will figure it out.  Don’t forget, though, that you are doing lots of things right.

All my best!
Linda

No one has made any mention of this but I thought that statins were supposed to increase artery calcium deposition.  If that is true couldn’t that be the issue here?

Hi Pat my ft3 has been at this 2.5-2.8 level since 2014.  Why and how should I increase it?  I already eat lots of fish, nuts, seaweed.

I had to take Armour and add T3 in order to increase my Free T3 without raising my Reverse T3.

Statin drugs do indeed accelerate the increase in CAC over doing nothing, but they would not account for such a precipitous rise, only a modest worsening.

Re: Endoxemia, another reason for me to cut out the saturated fat (according to Dr. Kahn).  Wouldn’t endotoxemia cause an elevated hsCRP?  I have never been over .4 since 2014 and test at least every 6 months.

Pek,
Find out how many channels/detectors in the CT machine. Anything less than 64 is certainly obsolete and probably results in an inaccurate score.
